Jerry Inman, Iowa KidSight Program Director for the Lions Clubs of Iowa, constructed the MTI PhotoScreener Lamp. MTI PhotoScreeners, manufactured by Medical Technology and Innovations Inc., utilized instant film to capture vision screening images. These devices were used for vision screening when the Iowa KidSight program first began in 2000, and were used until 2012 when technology advanced and the conversion to the iScreen digital device began.
The lamp is made of a solid wood shaft and uses a 3-way light bulb. They are often purchased to recognize Lions Club members are are/were active vision screeners with Iowa KidSight.
