Dr. Kanwal Matharu is a tenure-track assistant professor of cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Iowa. He joined the Iowa faculty after completing Residency at Baylor College of Medicine and 2 fellowships, first in Cornea at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and then a Global Ophthalmology at Stanford.

He is currently the Co-Director for the UI-Global Eye Program. He has an interest in studying the barriers to care and then providing the highest quality of care to all both locally and abroad.
