Maria Schweers, CO, joined KidSight in May 2025 as a photo interpreter. 

Maria completed her orthoptic training at the University of Iowa in 1989 and has worked in both private and academic practice in Detroit, Des Moines, and Iowa City. She also serves as scientific program coordinator for the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS), a role she has held for 35 years.

In her spare time, Maria enjoys caring for her grandchildren, travel, and spending time with family and friends.
